
One person was killed and 11 others were injured in a shooting in the tourist destination of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Myrtle Beach Police Department said in a statement that police responded to the scene around 11:50 p.m. local time. A police officer also returned fire, killing one person. The injured were taken to a hospital for medical attention, the statement said. Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said the deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Jarius Davis of Bennettsville. The incident is being investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. Police are also asking for the public’s help in the investigation.
