Judge pleads not guilty in case of protecting immigrant from arrest, petition filed

Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan has pleaded not guilty to federal charges that she helped an undocumented immigrant evade arrest by immigration agents. Protesters gathered outside the courthouse in downtown Milwaukee during the hearing, which lasted less than five minutes. Dugan’s lead attorney, former U.S. Attorney Steve Biskupic, entered a plea of ​​not guilty on her behalf. The trial is scheduled to begin July 21. U.S. District Judge Lynn Edelman will hear the case, although other judges will also assist her.
